The Molchanov Scholars Program is an endowed internship program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Institute for the Environment. The program is a partnership between the UNC Institute for the Environment and environmentally-focused small businesses, non-profit organizations and government institutions in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Each year undergraduate students are matched with an environmental internship where they gain hands-on, professional training. Each Molchanov Scholar receives a $5,000 stipend to support their summer experience.

Kay Blada Recycling is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit, founded in 2015 and dedicated to alleviating poverty and cleaning up plastic waste in Haiti, while providing environmental education to the children of the community.
NCPIRG Students is a student organization that works with UNC students to protect the environment, and promote civic engagement. This Fall our priority campaign is our New Voters Project, where we will be working with the student government and other student groups this fall to make sure no one misses Election Day. We have virtual volunteer and internship opportunities doing outreach, organizing events, and spreading the world through media and social media. Interns and volunteers support office administration, attend events at the UN as Peace Boat US representatives, support campaigns, projects, and educational programs through outreach efforts, and write news and blog articles about our activities. Especially valuable skills and qualities include being multi-lingual (Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, French, and Japanese are especially helpful), graphic design, networking, photography, communications, public speaking, and very importantly, a passion to support the issues that Peace Boat US works on.
5 hrs a week (2020-2021 academic year). Digital advertising is one of the most crucial tactics of marketing for online publishers and non-profits. It’s also a very promising avenue for testing out some of our research on attitudes toward climate change. We’re looking for somebody to help produce ads to advance YPCCC goals on both fronts.
The Smart Surfaces Coalition is an non-profit organization of 40 partners such as Habitat for Humanity, the American Public Health Association, the National League of Cities, the International Downtown Association, and TERI (in India). The Coalition has developed an integrated, coordinated strategy to drive rapid city adoption of smart surfaces city-wide, initially in the US, India, and Southern Europe
Work with a start-up and learn about entrepreneurship from the inside. Each student who is accepted will be matched with a start-up. This way you get to learn about the trials and tribulations of starting a company by being part of a small group that is trying to get the company off the ground. Audit the full accelerator program along with the company founders, this generally consists of two workshops a week during the fall semester.
